Templar partners with important diversity initiative: #100blackinterns

100 black interns

Templar is partnering with the 100 Black Interns initiative. The initiative offers internships to Black students across the UK to help kick start their career in investment management.

200 of the industry’s leading players are taking part as a way to source a more diverse group of talent for the long-term.  The internships will be paid and last a minimum of six weeks over the Summer of 2021.

These internships will provide an opportunity to learn about investment management first-hand at leading firms.  They will give interns the opportunity to develop soft skills, financial skills and, most importantly, their own network of high achieving professionals.

Templar consultant David Rush has been conducting communications and interview skills sessions with the candidates to help them to prepare for their interviews for potential internships within investment management companies.

Templar co-founder Hugo Jackson commented:  “Templar is proud and delighted to engage in this important initiative through our relationship with Capstone Investment Advisors and its president, Jonathan Sorrell.”

David commented, “I am grateful to be part of such an incredible and impactful initiative. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with these motivated candidates.

They are highly receptive to the training and focused on  upskilling to increase their chances of success. It is always a pleasure to work with individuals who are committed to their own growth and development.

Additionally, it has been a pleasure to collaborate and work with Dawid Konotey-Ahulu (co-founder of Redington, mallowstreet and 100 Black Interns), Stuart Breyer (CEO of mallowstreet ) and Jonathan Sorrell (President of Capstone Investment Advisors) in building out these training sessions.

They are inspiring leaders who have created an initiative that is making a real difference, and this is only just the beginning!”
