Prior to joining Templar, Julien worked for ScotiaBank, selling structured products for the Global Equity Derivatives Group. Before that, he traded equity securities and futures at Chimera Securities and at Lightspeed Trading, two New York-based brokerages.
As a former sales agent and equity trader, Julien has become an experienced negotiator involved in complex multi-party and multi-issue negotiations. While analytical skills are helpful, executives need a broad array of decision-making tools and interpersonal skills to negotiate successfully.
At Templar, Julien also advises a broad range of clients on communications topics, from public speaking through pitching and selling to negotiation. His buy-side clients include Warburg Pincus, Bain Capital and OMERS.
Asset managers include Neuberger Berman, Credit Suisse Asset Management and Harding Loevner. His sell-side and asset advisory clients include Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, UBS, Credit Suisse, Lloyd’s bank and Campbell Lutyens. He teaches regularly at the London Business School (MBA and Executive MBA programs).
Julien was awarded his MBA at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Business, and holds a B.Comm in Financial Management from Ryerson University. In addition to his native English, he is fluent in French.
