Gareth joined Templar in 2012 as an executive coach and consultant, after two decades working in financial services sales having previously held positions as both a Private Client Stockbroker for Killik & Co and Private Banker at Merrill Lynch. His last role at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML) was Head of Discretionary Sales overseeing business development across Europe, the Middle East and Latin America.
Gareth’s training and coaching approach is active, and results focused. He draws on his global business experience, advocating the importance of self- reflection, clarity of direction and a focus on pragmatic business outcomes. He uses established training and coaching methodologies and often combines this with psychometric profiling to help his clients gain greater self-awareness and, to bring clarity to the situations they seek to work on. His approach is both empathetic and naturally intuitive allowing him to mix directive and non-directive styles to help his clients generate superior results.
Since joining Templar, Gareth has worked across a range of industries including Professional Services, FMCG, Private and Investment Banking, Asset Management and Private Equity. Clients he has collaborated with include British Land, Credit Suisse, Flight Centre, HSBC, Investec, Unilever, KPMG, Morgan Stanley, London Stock Exchange, Nomura and UBS.
Gareth has recently completed the Practitioner Diploma in Executive Coaching at the Academy of Executive Coaching (AoEC), he is both Advanced DISC and Hogan Assessment Suite certified and also teaches on the Executive MBA program at the London Business School.
