Sam joined Templar Advisors in 2012 to focus on Hong Kong, Taiwan and China. She has worked in communications and client skills coaching since 2009 and majors on consultative sales for investment banking; communication and presentation skills; and public speaking skills training. Sam has worked with clients in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Beijing and Shanghai. Clients include UBS, KPMG, Citi, HSBC and Standard Chartered
Sam has delivered client skills training to senior figures across divisions within investment banking (Equities, Fixed Income and Corporate Finance / Advisory). And, in particular, has supported coverage teams better to cross-sell the bank’s offering through helping individuals to enhance the quality of their strategic discussions.
Prior to Templar, Sam spent over a decade in the financial services sector, culminating in her last position as a Chief Operating Officer at Goldman Sachs. She was COO of all support divisions including finance, operations and technology of Goldman Sachs in Asia. In this role, together with the senior leadership team, Sam was responsible for maintaining effective operational and administrative controls to ensure the divisions delivered smooth and efficient support to all areas of the GS businesses.
Whilst at Goldman, she also worked with the Human Resources team to develop leadership and communication programs. Sam holds an MBA from NYU, Stern School of Business. She grew up in Beijing and speaks fluent Putonghua (Mandarin) and English. She coaches in both languages.
