Anthony Bernbaum joined Templar Advisors in 2016 after a near thirty-year career in consulting and financial services. He has spent most of his career at Baring Brothers, Goldman Sachs and HSBC as an investment banker. At Templar, Anthony specialises in helping Financial Institutions improve their Coverage and Relationship Management effectiveness.
As a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs Anthony worked as investment banker focussed on Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Finance, principally with a focus on Financial Institution clients. From 2001-2002 he was European COO for Investment Banking where he worked with Goldman Sachs’ leadership team to implement strategy, including a strong focus on coverage strategy and client targeting.
At HSBC, he held a number of senior roles including Global Head of Financial Institutions and Global Head of business Development and Coverage for Global Banking. ln this capacity Anthony led many important transactions. As Global Head of Business Development he was responsible for several major initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of HSBC’s client coverage. He achieved this through introducing new approaches to client engagement and client targeting, as well as introducing new CRM systems and dashboards. To effect change, he put coaching at the heart of the implementation programme.
He holds a BA in Economics from Cambridge University and an MBA with distinction from INSEAD Business School, Fontainebleau.
