Russell’s communications career started in 1996 at Brunswick, the international communications consultancy where he worked with the main boards of companies including Rolls Royce, Bank of Scotland and Hamleys on investor communication around acquisitions, capital raisings and financial calendar events.
At Templar he has taught communication skills at London and Cambridge Judge Business Schools and covers international corporates (Cisco Systems and Gallup) as well as financial and professional services firms.
Clients in investment management represent the spectrum of equity, credit and fixed income (both long only and absolute return funds). They include portfolio management teams at Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Insight Investment Management and Aviva.
Within investment banking his recent clients include Lazard, UBS, BNY Mellon and Deutsche Bank where his focus has been client coverage teams, traders and product sales specialists.
Between Brunswick and Templar Russell broadened his commercial experience as the Group Marketing Director of an international property agency; he then led the Middle East expansion of a London-based marketing agency during the financial crisis of 2008.
Russell has an Ll.B. in Scots Law and is a former helicopter pilot.
